The Wood Family Tradition

My journey in automotive repair began in 1989 when my family opened Woodhaven Collision. Growing up in Worcester and graduating from Worcester Vocational High School, I knew early on that working with vehicles wasn’t just a career—it was my calling. After furthering my education at Fitchburg State College, I dedicated myself to mastering every aspect of auto body repair and restoration.

Giving Back Through Education

For 13 years, I served as an auto body educator at Worcester Technical High School, where I had the privilege of training the next generation of automotive professionals. Teaching reinforced my belief that true expertise comes from not just doing the work, but understanding the science and craftsmanship behind every repair.

Building Woody’s Auto Body

In 2013, with the support of my wife Cheryl and brother Mike, I opened Woody’s Auto Body in Spencer, MA. For 11 years, we built a reputation as the cornerstone of the town’s auto repair industry, earning the trust of thousands of customers throughout Central Massachusetts. Our commitment to quality and customer service made us a household name in automotive collision repair.

A Strategic Transition

In 2024, recognizing an opportunity to focus on specialized services that our community desperately needed, we sold Woody’s Auto Body to Fuller Collision Group. This strategic decision allowed Cheryl and me to launch Woody’s Restoration & Rust Proofing, where we concentrate on what we do best: protecting vehicles from New England’s harsh conditions and bringing classic cars back to their former glory.

Sean Wood is an ASE-certified master technician with over 40 years of experience in automotive collision repair and restoration. A graduate of Worcester Vocational High School and Fitchburg State College, Sean spent 13 years educating future automotive professionals at Worcester Technical High School before opening Woody’s Auto Body in 2013. After successfully running that business for 11 years, Sean and his wife, Cheryl, launched Woody’s Restoration & Rust Proofing in 2024 to focus on specialized rust-prevention and classic-car restoration services. Sean’s expertise has been featured in Auto Body News and recognized throughout Central Massachusetts for excellence in automotive craftsmanship.
